I remember the first real camera I got; it was a Pentax K-1000. I was about sixteen years old and fast developing a 'photo-realist' drawing style. When I got that camera I staged, lit, and photographed a roll of film in an hour. I could barely breathe waiting the three days for my negatives to be processed. When I finally got that solid little pack of photos back I was overwhelmed; twenty-four beautiful images! Perfect representations in three days, with very little effort! It suddenly seemed dreary and pointless to labour for days to produce something that looked 'almost' as good as a photo! I immediately set out on the road to expressionist and abstract painting, with my camera slung faithfully over my shoulder to capture the 'real' stuff. My camera has served me in my pursuit of art for all these years, and has gradually become a more and more intregal part of it. I developed my photo skills travelling around the world, refined them at 'Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design', and have recently put them to work doing action sports photography on the local motocross scene. With photoshop added to my skill set I can now offer any and all digital photo services, such as : photo touch-ups and repair, photo-colouring or desaturizing (or combination), or nearly any other form of photo enhancement or manipulation.
